The island like the title of that film says, is the place where the survivors of a global accident want to go, they think that the island is out of danger of the pollution.                  
The protagonists are Lincoln and Jordan, Lincoln discovers that they are not the only survivors because he sees a butterfly.He started to investigate, and he arrive in the conclusion that they are clones.                       
Millionaire people pay for him like a life insurance, when the owner requires some organ, his clone will give it.The island is an imaginary place where they say you will go to cure of the pollution and it’s just the form to say you will be killed because your owner need a part of you.
