Costa Concordia disaster:

On 13th January, the Costa Concordia cruise ship crashed againts the rocks on the Italian island of Giglio causing the naval accident more serious in the last years. Into the ship travelled 4.229 people, mostly Italians, French and Germans

The ship's captain Francesco Schettino, 52 years old, was arrested the same day and charged with multiple manslaughter, shipwreck and abandoning the ship while many passengers were still inside the ship.
